Hollyoaks confirms 'numerous exits' as Ste Hay faces danger in cliff edge showdown

Hollyoaks has announced numerous exits from the soap including a brief departure from fan favourite Ste Hay.

Kieron Richardson's character will bow out of the Channel 4 soap as the radicalisation plot reaches a terrifying climax on a cliff edge.

Ste finally had his eyes opened in September that he'd been groomed by a far-right extremist group who manipulated him into adopting their racist views, as they continued to target a Muslim family in the village, the Maaliks.

After an explosion that left Yaz injured, Ste finally came to his senses and since then he's been attempting to escape the far-right group.

In an hour-long special to air this month, the radicalisation plot will reach a dramatic climax as Stuart and Jonny realise Ste is trying to get out.

They decide to silence him for good, leading to tense scenes on a cliff edge filmed on location.

Sami Maalik also appears to be part of the scenes, while it's not yet known how he comes to be involved in the terrifying showdown.

While viewers will have to tune in to see what happens, it's been confirmed numerous exits will air as a result.

Ste will depart the village as a result of the events, while it's said this exit will be temporary.

Viewers will see the character reach out to friends, family and government counter-terrorism organisation, Prevent, in the coming episodes.

But Ste doesn't realise the people he is living with have rumbled his plan, and they want to make him pay for being a "traitor".

Teasing the conclusion to the storyline, which will air on E4 on Friday November 15, Jonny actor Ray Quinn promised emotional scenes during the episodes.

He said: "It felt like the pinnacle of the storyline and the journey as an actor - it felt like the end. We were at the edge of a cliff and emotions were running quite high on the day, so there are a lot of natural tears during the scenes that we were filming."

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6:30pm on Channel 4, with the next episode at 7pm on E4.
