Hollyoaks cast 'to have one-on-one chats with bosses' following racism row

Hollyoaks cast will have one-on-one chats with bosses following a number of rows regarding claims of racism on set, it has been reported.

The Channel 4 soap's stars are reportedly at war with one another and threatening to quit since an actress highlighted the racism she had faced on set.

Rachel Adedeji, who has since quit Hollyoaks, made a string of racism allegations regarding her time on the show.

Co-star Lysette Anthony appeared to say she was more worried about whether or not she'd have a job to go back to if the conversation continued, prompting Adedeji to label her "trash".

As a result of the bitter rows, Hollyoaks bosses are reportedly set to call in stars for one-on-one meetings to speak about the claims of racism.

A source told The Sun Online : "Bosses have been meeting with the cast one on one and have called as many cast members as they can into meetings to speak about racism and bullying on set."

The insider added that they have promised everyone that changes will be implemented following the complaints.

Mirror TV has contacted Hollyoaks for comment.

Bosses are hoping that the meetings will help handle the "divide" that is forming among the cast.

While its rivals Coronation Street, EastEnders and Emmerdale return to filming, the Channel 4 soap isn't due to kickstart production until another month.

A spokesperson for Hollyoaks has confirmed they are currently in pre-production and there will be a phased return from mid-July.

The rep told The Sun Online : "As previously announced on Monday 8th June, Hollyoaks is currently in pre-production and returning to phased filming on 13th July.

"All cast and crew will attend a safety induction to familiarise themselves with the revised way of working prior to production re-starting."
