Hollyoaks actress Kirsty-Leigh Porter reveals daughter was stillborn in heartbreaking statement

Hollyoaks actress Kirsty-Leigh Porter posted a heartbreaking statement after her daughter was stillborn.

Porter, who plays Leela Lomax on the Channel 4 soap, said her heart has “never felt pain like it”.

The actress shared a picture of her daughter’s hospital wrist band as well as prints of her hands and feet.

“Our beautiful baby girl, Penny-Leigh Barber was born sleeping on the 21st of December 2018 at 6.49am, 29 weeks & 3 days young,” she posted.

“My heart has never felt pain like it. Sleep sweetly our angel. We will always love you. Love your Mummy & Daddy. My Everything.”

Porter was inundated with messages from her co-stars and fans who reached out to offer support, with Nikki Sanderson and Steph Waring posting a string of red heart emojis.

Kirsty Gallacher posted: “I am so, so sorry Kirsty, I didn’t know. How brave you are. Thinking of you both and sending you so much love and strength.”

Kieron Richardson commented: “I love you both you strong pair.”

Porter announced she was expecting with her partner Paul in November. She told OK!: “We were really, really happy. You just feel everything at once.

“With acting, you don’t know when you’re okay to be like, 'Let’s take a year out and do this.' You’re just prepared when it happens, and we’re so happy it’s happened for us now.”
