She is one of the nation's biggest TV stars, but Holly Willoughby has revealed she was once so insecure about her looks that she couldn't leave the house without makeup.

The I’m A Celebrity host, 37, said she has become more comfortable and confident with her appearance over time.

"I feel like now I'm getting older, I'm much happier with my face as it is now than when I was younger," she told Red magazine.

"There was a time where I wouldn't go out of the house without at least putting mascara on.

"It's an honest way of seeing what an item of clothing looks like. Also, I'm not completely straight up and down, I'm curvy, so I think I'm sort of a normal shape, wearing normal clothes.

"That makes people go, 'Oh yes, I might look like that in that’”.

Willoughby also shut down people's misconceptions about her, insisting she "never wanted it all".

She said: “I think the biggest misconception about me is that people seem to think that I want it all and that I had it all and I walked away from having it all.

"That was never part of it. I never wanted it all."
