Holly Willoughby to be absent from This Morning all week after being struck down by painful illness

Holly Willoughby has revealed that she won't be presenting This Morning next week after being struck down by illness.

The 42-year-old TV host took to her social media to let her fans know that she has been really ill after being diagnosed with shingles.

Speaking to her 8.2 million Instagram followers, Holly confirmed that she will be missing from the ITV show for a week as she needs to recover from illness.

She wrote: "Hi, just to let you know, I may be away for the rest of the week as I have Shingles."

She added: "I'll be back as soon as I'm better. Huge love."

Holly usually presents the show with Phillip Schofield from Monday to Thursday every week, with Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary taking over the Friday show.

ITV have not announced who will be covering her role over the next week.

Although Holly will be absent from the programme, Phillip is set to return to This Morning on Monday after being absent for three weeks.

His initial absence came amid his brother Timothy’s trial for sexually assaulting a teenage boy over a period of three years.

Timothy, 54, was found guilty earlier this month and will be sentenced at Bristol Crown Court next month.

Phillip said after the case that he welcomed the guilty verdicts, adding: "As far as I am concerned, I no longer have a brother.”
