Holly Willoughby takes painful tumble down stairs on final Celebrity Juice episode

Holly Willoughby took a painful-looking tumble backwards during Celebrity Juice’s final ever episode.

The This Morning host was larking about with pal and former co-star Fearne Cotton when she fell down the stairs and ended up on the floor in front of the studio audience.

The 41-year-old was seen trying to grab a piece of cardboard from Cotton, also 41, who was desperately stretching her arm high so that Willoughby couldn’t reach it.

After outsmarting her pal, the TV star managed to nab the object out of Cotton’s hand, but her escape didn’t go quite to plan as she tripped over the stairs on her return to the stage.

In a clip from the episode, Willoughby is seen lying flat on her back as the team rush to help her while Strictly’s Will Mellor and Emily Atack are left looking visibly shocked.

Former Love Island host Laura Whitmore and Inbetweeners actress Atack, who took over the captains’ roles from Willoughby and Cotton in series 24, will also feature in the final episode.

Maya Jama, Joey Essex, Big Narstie, Joe Swash, Chris Ramsey and Will Mellor will all also make an appearance to say farewell to the programme.

In July, it was announced that after 26 series on ITV2, the show would not be renewed.

Over the years it saw names like Gino D’Acampo, Mel B, Paddy McGuinness and Kelly Brook all appear as team captains, while celebrity guests included Ed Sheeran and Pamela Anderson.

The one-hour special, Celebrity Juice: The Happy Ending, will air on Thursday, December 8 at 10pm on ITV2 and ITVX.

A 60-minute compilation show called Celebrity Juice: The Last Hurrah, which will look back through some of the greatest moments from the last 14 years with contributions from celebrities, will air a week later, on Thursday December 15, also at 10pm.
