Holly Willoughby suffers mucky disaster after returning home from This Morning

Holly Willoughby was faced with a bit of a mucky problem when she returned home from work on This Morning on Wednesday. The presenter was back at the helm of the programme on May 4 alongside co-host Phillip Schofield.

The pair gave viewers a blast from the past as The Cheeky Girls, aka twins Monica and Gabriela, eventually appeared on the famous sofa after turning up at the wrong studio before revealing their surprising new careers. They also interviewed a couple from County Antrim, Northern Ireland, who welcomed beautiful conjoined twins into their lives in March.

But while most of the show, Cheeky Girls chaos aside, went without a hitch, things couldn't be said for Holly's home life as the 41-year-old returned home to find her pet pooch Bailey had been doing a bit of work in the garden.

She took to Instagram on Wednesday (May 4) to share a clip of her guilty-looking dog whose usual pure white or golden coat was covered in mud up her legs and across her face. The sweet pup lay on the grass as Holly filmed on her phone, showing what was left of her garden plant beds.

Mum-of-three Holly shared the video clip with Krippa's Oh No playing over the top and saw Holly walk through her doors out into her back garden to find a now shy-looking Bailey not too far from the scenes of the gardening crime. "Bailey!!!!!!" she captioned the post which many of her millions of followers found hilarious.

But there was also some sympathy - but not for Holly and her garden. @nissyt65 commented: "Her little face she knows shes done wrong she cant look you in the eye bless her."

"[crying laughing emojis] ohhhh her face ... she like I'm sooooo sorry mum," @t rendy_nana said as @jennyheadforhome wrote: "Awww that look of shame with those big eyes tho."

@denisedilloway commented: "Awww her naughty face though.... beautiful but naughty you can't be cross with a face like that," while @j21evo joked: "Not so golden now."

And it's not the first time Bailey has found herself in the bad books as earlier this year Holly revealed how the four-legged member of the family had "ate" her hoover.

Holly may have been preparing for a spring clean but her pet pup had other ideas. "Dyson update… my dog ate my hoover…" the TV star shared alongside a photo of her vacuum cleaners in pieces while Bailey looked up at the camera with shame.

Holly told fans of her family's new arrival back in November, Sharing the news to fans on her lifestyle site Wylde Moon, Holly shared announced an adorable Golden Retriever named Bailey had joined their family. She said she had waited a few weeks to share the news as Bailey settled in to the Willoughby-Baldwin household, along with the family cat Bluebell.
