Holly Willoughby sparks huge wine drinking debate after being branded "common" by This Morning boss

Holly Willoughby prompted a massive debate on how to drink wine after her own habit was branded "common" by her This Morning boss.

Ahead of her and co-host Phillip Schofield reviewing a number of wines, including Kylie Minogue's branded rose, the subject turned to whether you should put ice cubes in your wine.

Holly said: "I do.. I I'm sitting outside with glass of white, or rose actually, I will. Is that really bad."

A shocked Phil then remarked: "Ooh our editor's just said..." before Holly interjected: "Our editor has just said something outrageous in my ear!"

Revealing what was said, Phillip added: " Our editor has just shouted out common...good heavens!"

The presenting duo opened up the discussion to viewers at home and unwittingly sparked a huge debate as to whether wine should be drank 'on the rocks' or not.

One tweeted: "It's not 'common' to put ice in wine! In fact on the continent - in the nicest of places I've been to, the people, esp the locals dining there -always get extra ice to put in their rosé."

Another posted: "Of course! it’s luscious sat in the sun drinking rosé with a Big ice cube in it!"

A third hit out at the This Morning editor's take down of Holly, reacting: "Drink it however you like it’s your choice. However calling people common for putting ice in a drink it’s rather rude and snobbish."

However, others agreed with the show boss. One tweeted: "No no and no! It waters it down! Lol"Absolutely NOT
