Holly Willoughby slams "mummy brigade" as she reveals she hires a nanny

Holly Willoughby has  revealed she has a nanny to help with her three children and has urged people not to listen to the “mummy brigade”.

The 38-year-old has hit back at those shaming her for paying for childcare for Harry, 10, Belle, eight, and Chester, five while working full-time, reports OK!

She said: “Working mums and stay-at-home mums get a tough time. You're damned if you do and damned if you don't. You just have to do what's right for you and not listen to what the mummy brigade say.

The star, who presents ITV's This Morning show alongside Phillip Schofield, also told Closer Magazine how she balances career and family life.

She said: “My job as a mother isn't just to provide for my children, it's to be there for them, too - someone they can speak to, hang out with, and lean on. When it comes to the kids, I don't ever want to feel like I'm missing out on stuff.”

She  then revealed she and husband Dan Baldwin had hired a nanny for the mornings because she has to be in the ITV studios so early.

She said: ”I do have a nanny, otherwise the kids would have to walk themselves to school!

"A good work-life balance is, for me, the most important thing - and the biggest challenge I have. I'm lucky I do a job that allows me to do school pick-up, so I feel quite blessed to have that.

Holly and Dan, who is a TV producer, celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary last August.

She has previously revealed to OK! Magazine their meeting was not exactly love at first sight.

“He’d come from MTV and was very ‘too cool for school’. He looked at me like I was this wally of a person. I thought, 'Oh God, he hates me. He thinks he’s really cool'."

She then added: “Then we became really good friends. We were in the bar and we toasted something with champagne and I looked at him and it was like, ‘Oh my God, I fancy him.’”
