Holly Willoughby slams Gemma Collins over lack of ‘professionalism’ on Dancing on Ice

Holly Willoughby appeared to take aim at Gemma Collins’ diva persona as she addressed her lack of “professionalism” on Dancing on Ice.

Willoughby, who hosts the ITV dance contest with Phillip Schofield, couldn’t help but criticise the TV star for keeping the entire cast and crew waiting during this weekend's dress rehearsal.

Discussing the show on This Morning, former 2018 winner Kem Cetinay revealed Collins had been found backstage ahead of Saturday’s show, having a “nap”.

“Gemma wasn't performing this week, but as always she had the headlines,” he said.

“We were preparing for the group routine rehearsal before - she was having a nap!”

Willoughby added: “We know very well what happened.”

She went on to reveal that the entire studio had been left waiting, including Jayne Torvill and Chris Dean, who were sat on the judging panel.

Schofield said: “We found out, 'where is Gemma?' for five, ten minutes, that whole studio, the schedule knocking on, oh she's having a nap.”

Collins was later revealed to have “gone missing” during the last quarter of the live show, after she “got bored”.

An unimpressed Willoughby condoned her behaviour, telling viewers: “I love Gemma, I'm a big fan of hers and I love her on the show. But I do think there has to be a bit of professionalism that comes into any work you do, just a bit of pride in your work.”

Cetinay attempted to defend Collins by blaming the diva behaviour on her “character the GC,” but Willoughby was quick to brand it “rubbish” and accused her of using it as a way of “getting away” with doing what she wants.

It is not the first time Collins has caused a stir, with the star previously threatening to quit over her entrance song.

Collins has yet to respond to the Willoughby's comments.
