Holly Willoughby slammed by This Morning viewers for breaking social distancing rules live on air

Viewers tuning into today's episode of This Morning have slammed presenter Holly Willoughby for breaking social distancing rules live on air.

During a segment on the show where Holly and her co-host Phillip Schofield were taking part in a science experiment, it seems the mother-of-three forgot to keep her distance.

Since lockdown measurements were put in place, the pair have been hosting the show on 'skeleton staff' and have managed to continuously keep two metres apart from one another.

However, during a science part of today's programme while the duo were at either end of a table, Holly went over to Phil to help him out - but got a bit too close.

"Like that look, let me do it on yours." She said while walking over to him.

"Oh! I've got you, I understand." Phil replied, before quickly shouting: "No don't get so close! Get back!"

A panicked Holly quickly paced back to her area, telling viewers: "Ah, two metres, two metres! I am genuinely sorry, sorry."

Unsurprisingly, many of those who saw Holly's accidental blunder took to social media to react.

One viewer, who posted a picture of Holly next to Phil on their TV screen, tweeted: "Nice #SocialDistancing Holly and Phil ! @thismorning #thismorning"

Another added: "Get away from.him Holly..#thismِorning"

"TWO METRES HOLLY!! TWO METRES!! #ThisMorning" A third posted.

One even joked: "Holly just broke social distancing sack her #thismorning"

Another chimed: "Holly will be made to apologise for that distancing breach #ThisMorning"

However, one person said: "Oh have a day off you lot ,simple laps by holly ,the amount if people that will forget social distancing when lock down ends anyway,it goes against human nature #ThisMorning"
