Holly Willoughby shrieks in fear as she lands in I’m A Celebrity jungle: ‘Everything wants to eat you!’

Holly Willoughby tried to stay calm after being hassled by flies while attempting to send a video message to Phillip Schofield and Rochelle Humes.

The TV star has swapped the This Morning sofa for jungle-life in Australia ahead of her temporary stint on I’m A Celebrity.

Insisting she has adapted to her new “home” she said: “Hi Phil, hi Rochelle, it’s only me in the Australian jungle. I’ve arrived safe and sound, I’m settling into my new home.

“For somebody that’s not that brilliant with nature, I’m sort of fitting in OK. I’ve seen a spider. It was only a little one, but it was a real-life spider. I’m lifting up toilet seats wherever I go. I’m checking inside my shoes. Yet to see a snake.”

Terrified: Willoughby has previously told of her fear going into the jungle (ITV)

But things soon took a turn as the 37-year-old caught sight of an insect which had landed on her arm.

Panicking mid-flow, Willoughby said: “We’ve done a few sort of rehearsal-y bits. I’ve done a Bushtucker Trial. Well, I haven’t done it, but I’ve watched one.

“So I’ve seen crocodiles and stuff. Something’s just landed on my arm – eek!

“There’s things that land on you everywhere. They have flies that bite. Everything bites. Everything wants to eat you!”

The clip comes as Willoughby gears up to present alongside Declan Donnelly who will front the popular ITV show without Ant McPartlin for the first time in its history after he stepped down from his TV commitments earlier this year.

New dad Donnelly, 43, has admitted that he couldn’t bear to host the show alongside another man, admitting that Willoughby was top of his list.

He told The Sun: “As always I’m incredibly excited to be heading to Aus for I’m A Celebrity.

“It is obviously tinged with sadness that Ant won’t be coming this year, I’m going to really miss him, but it’s only for one series and he’ll be back stronger next year.”

Stars confirmed to enter the jungle include former football star Harry Redknapp, Coronation Street actress Sair Khan, DIY SOS presenter Nick Knowles, 2014 X Factor winner Fluer East, The Vamps star James McVey, Inbetweeners star Emily Atack and a host of other celebrity names.

This Morning continues weekdays at 10.30am on ITV.
