Holly Willoughby shocked Motherland star Paul Ready during a This Morning interview with a rather suggestive remark about a plot twist on the BBC comedy.
The third series of the popular sitcom came to an end on BBC2 on Monday night but it was an earlier episode that gave viewers the biggest surprise when Paul's character Kevin Brady was involved in a highly unexpected clinch with self proclaimed 'queen bee' of the PTA, Amanda.
Paul and co-star Tanya Moodie, whose character Meg has been at the centre of a breast cancer storyline on the show, joined Holly and co-host Phillip Schofield on the This Morning sofa on Tuesday.
And Paul certainly wasn't expecting a quip Holly made about Kevin's fling with Amanda.
Explaining how his character had developed over the past few years, Paul said: "Kevin from season 1 to season 3, he's kind of been on a slow journey but he has a gaping hole in himself that he wants filled by others' validation.
"That's a kind of clown and he's attempting to get that hole filled."
Jumping on Paul's final words, Holly responded: "There's a bit of a plot twist, I mean he sort of did...Amanda."
Looking taken aback by Holly's remark, Paul interrupted: "I'm not sure we should be going from trying to get a hole filled to..." as he looked across the sofa to Tanya who was shaking her head.
Phillip then joked: "You should know us by now!"
Getting back on track, Holly continued: "He did find himself in a compromising situation."
While absolutely gutted that Motherland is over for another series, with Paul and Tanya saying they were unsure if there will be a fourth, fans were delighted to see them on This Morning.
One tweeted: "So happy these two are on!" and another reacted: "I got into motherland in lockdown and binged all 3 series! It’s funny but does serious issues."
