Holly Willoughby says she 'won't miss I'm A Celebrity' as Ant returns

Holly Willoughby has admitted she won’t miss the I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! jungle this year.

She stepped in last year to host the show alongside pal Dec Donnelly while Ant McPartlin took a break from his TV commitments to concentrate on his recovery following his drink driving arrest.

The This Morning presenter said as she attended the Mirror’s awards last year that she was busy finishing off her Christmas shopping and preparing to head Down Under, but this year she was a lot more relaxed.

Speaking exclusively to Mirror Online at the awards, she said: “I’m so much more laid back this year.

“I am going to look forward to watching it, I’m such a fan of the show so just to sit back and watch it will be great.”

Last year, Holly took her children, Harry, Belle and Chester, who she shares with husband Dan Baldwin, to Australia with her.

She added: “The kids watch it with a completely different perspective and take because they’ve been there and they’ve seen it so they’re really looking forward to it coming back, they keep seeing the adverts with the boys in the boats and they’re like, ‘Where are they now?’

“I think we’re all just looking forward to having it back in our lives again.”

Holly famously struggled with the creepy crawlies that lived in the jungle and often shrieked as she watched the celebs taking on Bushtucker Trials.

She laughed: “Well I think that was well documented. I’m not brilliant with that sort of thing.”

On the return of Ant, she added: “Its going to be brilliant to have them reunited on that show, where they belong.”

Speaking about the awards, she said: “It’s such a special night that reminds you how brilliant Britain is and how heroic we are and how courageous we are and how we just give over to others and put others before ourselves and it’s lovely to celebrate that because people don’t talk about that enough, so it’s a bit magical.”

The Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards, in partnership with TSB, will broadcast on ITV on 5th November at 8pm .
