Holly Willoughby says Glastonbury trip was 'freeing' after 'partying for 12 hours'

Holly Willoughby has said her trip to Glastonbury Festival this year felt 'freeing' as she partied for 12-hours – leaving the recent This Morning drama behind.

This Morning host Holly, 42, was pictured landing in Glastonbury in a £1,000 jacket on Friday.

She was later reported to have enjoyed a 12-hour bender at Worthy Farm – partying with pals Abbey Clancy and Peter Crouch, who admitted to having lost his voice while accepting a TRIC Award yesterday for his podcast, That Peter Crouch Podcast.

After travelling back from the Somerset festival, Holly has gushed over the weekend – calling it "pure magic" in her Wylde Moon newsletter.

Holly wrote, according to the Daily Mail: "Just what is it about going to a festival that makes you feel about 20 again? There's something so freeing about it…as if you've entered a world that encourages you to leave life's worries and responsibilities at the gate and let your hair down.

"I spent three amazing days with incredible friends, listening to some of the best musicians on the planet – all whilst dancing like lunatics."

Looking over the "touching" highlights she recalled the "poignant" moment the crowd sang back to Lewis Capaldi during his set and said watching Elton John with her husband Dan Baldwin was "humbling and "pure magic".

Holly missed out on Monday's This Morning but returned on Tuesday morning. But one thing that hadn't quite returned from the festival was her voice.

As she fronted the ITV programme alongside Craig Doyle he probed her on her croaky tone.

Craig asked: "Is that a summer cold is it? Allergies? Pollen?"

Holly then confessed: "I've been offically Glasto-d! That's what this voice is.

"It's always my first thing to go and actually I blame Elton John for this because – did you see him on stage? It was just so amazing, it was one of the best bits."

She continued: "The whole weekend was incredible but to finish on this moment and I sang my socks off and now I sound like this! But honestly I just had the best weekend ever."

Holly's fun weekend of partying comes after her former co-host Phillip Schofield admitted to having a bombshell affair with a younger ITV colleague.

Days after quitting This Morning as he was surrounded by rumours of a rift with Holly, Phillip admitted to the "unwise but not illegal" affair.

He later discussed the backlash and how it impacted his mental health.

The presenter said: "I do not know a time I will be able to walk out of the door.

"I don’t have any spirit. My friends tell me, 'It will get better'. It won’t. Not now. Not this one."

Phillip admitted he has never suffered any abuse in public before, but now fears he will be shouted at or spat on.

The former TV presenter broke cover for the first time in a month last week, as he was photographed emerging from his bolthole to celebrate his mother Pat's birthday.
