Holly Willoughby 's sister Kelly has revealed she's heartbroken as they are being forced to spend their first Christmas apart in 40 years.
The pair are among the millions of families who will be unable to celebrate together this year after London and the south east were plunged into a brutal Tier 4 lockdown.
Kelly has now shared her sorrow at being kept apart from her telly star sister, who lives in London with her husband Dan and their three children.
She called the new restrictions "beyond heartbreaking" but vowed to start ploughing through the Christmas booze and chocolate early.
In a post on Instagram, she shared a picture of the sisters together and wrote: "So sad I can’t be with my @hollywilloughby for the first time in 40 years.
"Thinking of everyone who can’t be with their favourite people this Christmas.
"It's beyond heartbreaking. Do something now to try and keep your head straight. I can’t knit for toffee but giving it a bloody go...
"Oh and have cracked open the Christmas booze...and on second tub of choc."
She was swamped with messages of support from her followers, many of whom are going through similar situations.
One wrote: "Same for me my darling... my sister, my parents - all of us in tier 4!!"
Holly also took to Instagram to admit she's been feeling blue about her cancelled Christmas, but she told fans she has been playing Kate Bush records to cheer herself up.
In a post on Instagram, Holly shared a picture of the singer and wrote: "Got out of bed and played this wonderful goddess this morning... it helped." She added a red heart enoji.
The new restrictions came in over the weekend and ban anyone in Tier 4 from mixing with anyone outside of their household or bubble - even on Christmas Day - apart from exercising outside with one other person.
There is also a stay at home order in place meaning anyone in Tier 4 "cannot leave or be outside of the place you are living unless you have a reasonable excuse".
Outside of Tier 4, residents of England have also had their Christmas bubbles slashed to just one day while Wales and Scotland are also facing tougher restrictions.
