Holly Willoughby's new show The Real 2020 Games with Freddie Flintoff cancelled

Holly Willoughby's new Olympics-themed show has been postponed until next year by ITV.

The Real Games, starring Holly and Freddie Flintoff, will not be airing this summer after news that the Tokyo Olympics would be pushed back a year.

ITV were forced to reschedule the programme amid the covid-19 pandemic.

A source told The Sun : "Holly and Freddie’s contracts have been redrawn, along with their co-star Alex Scott's, and it took some planning.

"These three are key to the show’s success, as they are such big names and were a perfect fit for hosting the Games."

The insider added that the team went "all out" to secure the presenters for next year.

They added: "Their schedules are all very busy and since a lot of shows are being delayed until next year, it took a lot of effort to get all the ducks in a row."

The source also teased that Love Island star Scott Thomas and brothers Ryan and Adam would be appearing on the show.

Celebs taking part will have to take on various Olympic events as they compete against one another.

"The Thomas brothers have given the green light to taking part and now the casting team are working on getting new stars to come on and have a go," they said.

However, due to the change of dates, other celebs have been able to sign up after previously being unable to do so this year.

The insider added: "The delay has been tough but on a positive note, it could make the show even more successful.”
