Holly Willoughby's new appearance leaves This Morning viewers bemused

After a sunny Easter break in the UK, many of us returned to work on Tuesday with a bronzed (or pink) appearance.

But Holly Willoughby's tan - gained from an Easter break in the Maldives, rather than in a UK beer garden - left ITV viewers divided upon her return.

Some wondered if she had been using Richard Madeley's make-up artist, after he was targeted by trolls for his 'pumpkin-like' appearance.

After two weeks off, along with co-host Phillip Schofield, the 38-year-old mother-of-three certainly made an impression with viewers, who joked her orange-tinged tan had come straight out of Richard Madeley's make-up box.

It started with one viewer tweeting: "What’s going on with Holly’s tan? #ThisMorning."

This opened the floodgates as others piled in with not exactly the most complimentary take down of her look.

One sarcastic viewer tweeted: "#ThisMorning love Holly but does look like a oompah loompah today. #orange"

The Richard Madeley comparisons started coming thick and fast, with one viewer asking: "Has Holly been getting tanning advice from Richard Madeley? #ThisMorning"

Another joked: "#ThisMorning Is Holly Willoughby using Richard Madeley's make-up artist?"

The overall feeling was how did Holly get so tanned since her return to the show on Tuesday.

It could only be one way, with one Twitter user asking: "Has Holly been down the sunbed shop? Was she that tanned yesterday? #ThisMorning"

No doubt, there will be all eyes on Holly when This Morning returns, to see whether her skin colour has returned to a more natural hue.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am on ITV.
