Holly Willoughby rings in the New Year with cheeky margarita as she issues plea to 2022

Holly Willoughby enjoyed ringing in the New Year with her beverage of choice - a cheeky margarita.

The 40-year-old looked happier than ever as she sipped at her Tequila-based cocktail, complete with a salted rim and a slice of lime perched on the side.

This Morning host Holly shared a selfie of herself grinning at the camera as she tilted her red Happy New Year hat and gave a salute to her followers.

She certainly dressed for the occasion, wearing a black dress decorated with glittery gold stars.

Holly captioned the photo simply: "Happy New Year…"

Her fans flocked to the comments to wish her the same, with one writing: "Now that’s a MARGARITA HNY beautiful, roll on 202222222."

While another commented: "Love you Holly ! Your book reflections is brilliant ! X

A third wrote: "happy new year have a good one if you can !! stay happy and healthy."

Earlier today, Holly issued a plea to 2022, asking to be "let off the rollercoaster for a bit".

She wrote: "Happy New Year… what do I wish for … a bit of consistent normality… I know the one constant is self but it would be nice if 2022 could let us off the rollercoaster for just a bit… sending you and yours huge love …"

It comes after Holly revealed earlier this week she knew she'd be famous because a psychic predicted it when she was a child.

Speaking to comedian Michael Macintyre, 45, on By The Light of the Moon she said: "When I was younger I remember going to - I think it was either Eastbourne Pier or Brighton Pier, I can't remember.

"There was a psychic lady at the end. My mum took me and my sister to go.

"She said to me: 'You're going to be a household name.' Blah blah blah blah blah.

"We just fobbed her off thinking she probably literally says this to every little kid who walks in because it's just a nice thing to say. Weird though, eh?"
