Holly Willoughby reveals real reason behind This Morning absence

This Morning fans were confused on Monday as Holly Willoughby was not presenting alongside Phillip Schofield as normal.

The ITV favourite was instead replaced by Rochelle Humes and was absent from the programme, prompting many worried fans to question where she was.

However, now Holly has explained why she wasn't there – and she had a pretty good reason.

Speaking upon her return on Tuesday's show, she revealed that she had been in Italy with her husband Dan Baldwin, where they had been lucky enough to meet the legendary Sir Elton John.

Clearly still buzzing from the encounter, Holly showed off a picture of herself with the music legend.

She then gleefully revealed that Elton had asked to see her backstage, and even dedicated a song to her and her husband.

"Dan and I have a favourite lyric in 'Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues'...," she recalled.

"I told him [Elton] that and didn't think anything of it and then we went to see the concert and Elton goes, 'I'm dedicating this song to Holly and Dan'.

"It was one of the most magical moments of my life ever."

Elton is currently on his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, where he is travelling around internationally to perform to fans.

Alongside meeting Elton, Holly and Dan made sure to bask in the sun and enjoy some traditional Italian food.

"Ciao Tuscany... you’ve been bellissima!," Holly wrote on social media as she jetted home from the lavish long weekend and back to work.
