Holly Willoughby removes Philip Schofield from social media following reports friendship is on the rocks

There have reportedly been tensions between This Morning hosts Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby over recent months in the ITV studios as their close friendship is said to have taken a turn.

Despite the presenting duo having fronted popular television shows together for many years, and always maintained a close relationship off-camera, it seems it could be troubled water for the pair as Phillip has admitted it "hasn't been easy."

Phillip detailed in a bombshell emotional statement on Thursday night the long-term support he has had from his pal through thick and thin at some of the toughest moments in his life, and the fact she has always been there as a "best friend" following his family going through a "real ordeal."

Back in March, Philip's brother Timothy Schofield was found guilty of sexually abusing a teenage boy over a period of three years.

And now according to reports in the Mirror, fans have spotted that Holly, 42, has wiped her co-star from her Twitter bio where it was previously written: "I was introduced to this by a Twitter legend," before tagging her presenting partner.

Her Twitter bio now reads: "Broadcaster, Founder of Wyldemoon, Brand ambassador for Marks & Spencer and Garnier, Author of Reflections," something that didn't slip past her and Phil's viewers.

Although it's not clear when the edit to her social media page was made, sources have claimed that their friendship is struggling and they are both now "separate entities" with their relationship very different off-screen to their united front displayed on This Morning.

Fans have now taken to social media themselves as they highlighted the change.

One person wrote: "Didn’t Holly’s twitter bio say something about being introduced to Twitter by ‘a legend’ (ie Phil), now it’s not there…"

"Loads of reports that they've both fallen out and don't talk anymore. Holly's also removed the mention of Phil," added another fan.

It comes as Philip admitted things hadn't been "easy" for the pair but praised her "incredible" support, as he told The Sun: "The last few weeks haven’t been easy for either of us.

"As I have said before, Holly is my rock. We’re the best of friends - as always, she is an incredible support on screen, behind the scenes and on the phone. Holly has always been there for me, through thick and thin. And I’ve been there for her."

The ITV hosts put on a united front for Thursday morning's instalment of This Morning, however body language expert Judi James exclusively told The Mirror that there was some tension between the duo, whilst Phil gave off an air of defiance and dimissal.

"Phil and Holly’s body language lacked synchronicity this morning and the differences did seem like a non-verbal response to the fresh rumours of a rift. Phil hit the ground running and his displays looked very much like a message of defiance and dismissal," she said.

"He was in party mood from the start, pulling faces as he swung his arms to Lulu’s Eurovision song. Holly joined in with less enthusiasm, like the grown-up at the party. There was some biting of his lower lip and tensing of the top one to hint at strong inner emotions."
