Holly Willoughby ignores Phil 'feud' as she enjoys royal event with King Charles

Holly Willoughby put rumours of a feud with Phillip Schofield behind her as she enjoyed a meeting with King Charles at Buckingham Palace.

This Morning host Holly, 42, was among some of the celebs who recieved an invite to meet King Charles at Buckingham Palace as part of the Prince's Trust Awards.

Royal reporter Richard Palmer said: "Holly Willoughby was among the showbiz stars meeting the King at a Buckingham Palace reception for The Prince’s Trust today.

"But the normally talkative This Morning host wouldn’t speak to the media and there was no sign of her co-host Phillip Schofield, also a trust ambassador."

Earlier in the day, Phil had to carry on This Morning alone as Holly headed off to the Palace.

As they hosted the ITV show, Holly and Phil confirmed he would be taking the reigns of the show from around midday as Holly headed off to Buckingham Palace for her duty with the Prince's Trust Awards.

But as the pair bid each other farewell, Holly told Phil: "Be good, don't be naughty," before they embraced, woodenly, causing fans to wonder what was going on.

One viewer said: "This is awkward". Another quipped: "Still laughing at how Holly couldn't get away quick enough blink and you'd miss her leave".

A third fan mused: "It was really kind of HM The King to save Holly Willoughby from having to endure more time with Phillip Schofield".

The move comes after much speculation of a 'feud' between the pair.

There have been reports of a 'bloodbath' incoming this summer at the ITV's mid-morning show amid reports that the pair's friendship has 'cooled' and they aren't speaking to each other.

Phil also released a bombshell statement, where he said the past few weeks had been tough for both him and Holly but vowed that they were still great friends and always supported one another.

A source recently told The Mirror: "Phil’s position is looking increasingly precarious. Monday is very much D-day, but the same could apply to any day next week. No one is bigger than the brand."

Insiders have claimed that Phillip is facing the axe from the show if the on-screen chemistry he shares with Holly is off.

A source told The Sun: " This Morning is preparing for some seismic changes this summer — and Phil is lined up as the first major name for the chop when his contract expires this summer. It’s highly unlikely he’ll be back in September."

They revealed ITV is planning for a "new look This Morning" as many "feel it is time for some fresh blood" on the show, with This Morning boss Martin Frizell, who has been in charge since 2016, also reportedly facing the chop.
