Holly Willoughby misses This Morning for her grandmother's funeral as she posts tribute to 'beautiful nan'

Holly Willoughby has paid an emotional tribute to her “beautiful nan” ahead of her funeral.

Rylan Clark Neal stood in for Willoughby on This Morning in order for her to say goodbye to her late grandmother.

Willoughby broke the devastating news on Instagram, posting: “Today we say goodbye for a little while to my beautiful Nan.

“Go and be with Grandad... he’s been waiting for you... love you... miss you...”

Fans sent “love and thoughts” as well as condolences to the presenter and her family.

Her co-host Phillip Schofield also sent his own sweet message as he opened Tuesday’s This Morning with Clark-Neal.

“Holly’s not here today, sadly her nan has passed away and today is the funeral,” he said.

“We’re sending lots and lots of love to the whole family and especially to Holly’s mum Lynne.”

Mum-of-three Willoughby has previously spoken about her special bond with her mum, revealing that she speaks to her “a few times a day”.

"I still run everything past her," she told the Mirror. "If I'm about to buy a pair of shoes, I'll go, 'Mum, do you think I should be doing this?'

“It's silly. I'm a fully grown woman, of course I can buy shoes. But I still like to talk to her about everything.”
