Holly Willoughby poses with ‘bestie’ Phillip Schofield in holiday selfie before husband Dan Baldwin launches hilarious prank

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield proved that they’re the best of pals on screen and off as they posed for a selfie on a joint family holiday - until Willoughby’s husband Dan Baldwin surprised them with a hilarious prank.

The This Morning presenting partners are enjoying a sunny getaway as part of their seven week summer hiatus from the ITV show.

Schofield shared a string of food photos from a delicious meal on his Instagram Story last night, asking followers: “Who AM I having lunch with?”

He later revealed that his secret lunch companion was in fact his colleague when he posted a selfie of the pair beaming against a sandy backdrop, captioning it “there she is” and branding Willoughby his “bestie.”

The much-loved duo weren’t smiling for long, though, as Willoughby’s husband sneaked up to surprise them with a spray can of sun cream in a hilarious moment captured on Schofield’s camera.

As the presenters continue to pose together for another snap, Baldwin sprays the foam-like product onto Schofield’s face, leaving him shocked and exclaiming “S***!”

Willoughby was less than impressed, admitting “That went in my mouth, I actually ate that!” before shouting “Daniel!”

However, Baldwin’s luck soon changed when he started paddling in some water in a second clip shared by Schofield.

After telling his wife that the water was “lovely,” the TV producer leaned over to bring himself back onto the land.

His sunglasses then fell into the water and travelled out of his reach, prompting him to wail: “They’re expensive, no!”

Last week, Willoughby and her family met up with This Morning guest presenter Rochelle Humes at a Portuguese resort.

The host shared a photo of her and Humes jumping in the sea alongside a similar snap of their daughters posing in the same way.

Writing on Instagram, Willoughby said that seeing the “mini me” children “in sync” is like “looking in the mirror.”

Willoughby and Schofield will return to This Morning in September, with Friday presenters Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford stepping in during their absence.
