Holly Willoughby pays tribute to NHS by flying blue flag at her 'castle mansion'

Holly Willoughby is showing her support for the NHS by flying a flag baring its logo from her home.

The This Morning presenter's tribute to the health service says "NHS - We thank you" in its famous shade of blue and is proudly flying from the roof of her £3million South London house, according to The Sun.

Her six-bedroom property, which she and her husband Dan Baldwin bought in 2011, has a huge tower dating back to the 1800s in the middle of the roof, likening it to a castle.

The couple have added a flag and flagpole to the tower, which previously had a Union Jack flying from it.

Neighbours were said to have complained about the patriotic display.

One neighbour told The Mirror at the time: "We don't hang the Union Jack or St George flag outside our properties, so why should she?

"It's not really becoming of the area.

"The Tower house is one of the oldest in the neighbourhood, and has a very prominent tower, but it's never had a Union Jack on it before. It's always remained without one."

In 2013 the couple did two huge house renovations, adding a ground floor extension and swimming pool.

Neighbours complained that the works went on six days a week and started early in the mornings, with the roads blocked up with big lorries throughout.

In September 2016, the couple, who live there with their three young children, had a planning application for a two-storey building attached to the main house refused after residents complained.

Then in November that year they were granted permission to build a "super basement".

The Mirror has contacted a rep for Holly for comment.
