Holly Willoughby mortified as a relative is unmasked on The Masked Dancer

Holly Willoughby was a guest judge during the final of The Masked Dancer, and she was gobsmacked as a relative was unmasked as one of the performers.

This Morning presenter Holly was brought in as an extra detective on the all-star panel to help work out the identity of Scarecrow, Car Wash, Squirrel and Zip on the ITV guessing game.

And there was a big surprise as Scarecrow was revealed to be someone close to her.

The jolly character was revealed to be former EastEnders star Tamzin Outhwaite who played Mel Owen in the BBC soap, and the pair are related through through marriage.

Holly couldn't believe that she didn't work out it was a member of her own family and clapped her hands over her face in disbelief.

Holly, 40, explained that she and Tamzin, 50, are cousins-in-law.

"My husband's mum and Tam's mum are sisters," she said.

Tamzin is a blood relative of Holly's TV prodicer husband Dan Baldwin.

At Christmas 2017 Holly posted a picture of the pair of them together and called Tamzin her cousin.

She wrote: "Me and @glamzin and our Nonna Matriarch! In true #eastendersstyle... faaaaamly! Xxx FYI.., @glamzin is my cousin."

And speaking of her excitement about Tamzin's return to Eastenders in 2018 she said: "Well, she's my husband Dan's cousin. It's family init!"

In 2019 Tamzin's character was killed off when she was hit by a lorry.

Asked if she had a a game plan to trick the panel, Tamzin said after her unveiling: "Well – I was basing Scarecrow on a teenage boy to trick them into thinking I’m a boy or young."

And the star said she watched the scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz to get into character.
