Holly Willoughby 'lost a part of herself' juggling TV career and family life

Holly Willoughby has admitted feeling as though she had "lost touch with herself", as she juggled her busy career and family life with her husband and young children.

The This Morning and Dancing on Ice presenter has recently reconnected with herself, she says, and found nature helped her with this.

Holly spoke on The One Show, revealing all after releasing her new book titled Reflections.

The star said she felt "blessed" to have the life that she leads, with her husband Dan Baldwin, and their three children Harry, Belle and Chester.

Holly says she feels "lucky" to have the career that she loves, but confessed to forgetting to "stop and be still" as she juggled being a TV presenter in demand with family life.

Now, Holly has said her new book was all about reconnecting with different things, and finding herself again - making sure to "look in and focus" on who she was.

She explained: "The thing is, I am very lucky and I am very blessed. I do have a wonderful family and husband, and work.

"I love my career but sometimes, when you are spinning all of these plates you forget to stop and just be still, and work out who you are in the middle of all of this craziness, and this bit that is going on.

"That is really just what happened, I just lost touch with myself I think."

Host Gethin Jones asked about her reconnecting with nature, and how this helped her.

She said: "A big part of the book was reconnection in many ways, mainly reconnecting with myself. I felt like I had completely lost a part of myself.

"I was so busy sort of focusing on so many other things, that kind of actually looking in and focusing on myself, I'd lost that bit.

"I had to get to know myself and being still, being reflective, getting into nature was a massive part of that.

"It really seemed to help me. I've got this affinity with the moon anyway, and just looking up and having that there just seemed very grounding.

"It slows you down and gives you space to think."

The One Show airs weeknights at 7pm on BBC One.
