Holly Willoughby left red-faced as she admits she urged her cat to talk to her

Holly Willoughby was left feeling a little red-faced on This Morning on Wednesday as she admitted she used to urge her cat to talk to her.

During a segment on the ITV show, Holly and her co-host Phillip Schofield spoke to a couple of pet owners who have taught their dog and cat to press buttons in order to communicate.

However, it seems mum-of-three Holly has been urging animals to communicate with her for years - and made a rather funny admission to Phil during the advert break.

As the show returned, Phil told Holly to explain what she had told him during the break.

"When I was really little, really little, I used to look at my cat Honey and go, 'if you can talk, you can tell me, no one’s here. If you just want to tell me something, then you can'," she admitted.

The 40-year-old looked a little embarrassed as she stressed once again that she was very young when she did this.

"I mean, I was a kid and nothing happened, it was a dream!" she told Phil, 58.

He then replied: "That is why they never speak because they know that eventually, years down the line, you would have spilled that!"

Holly then butted in: "And you all would have thought I was completely mad!"

Phil then continued: "I’ve been Doctor Doolittle. There is this unwritten rule, they never ever speak because someone eventually is going to tell."

Holly's fans are well aware that she is still very much a fan of felines and owns a cat named Bluebell.

Bluebell is breed of cat referred to as Ragdoll, who are known for their docile and placid temperament and affectionate nature.

Holly is clearly smitten with her cat and often shares cute pictures and videos of Bluebell on social media.
