Holly Willoughby left overcome with emotion after a remark made by her co-host Phillip Schofield "Oh my god, you're gonna make me cry!"

This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby was left overcome with emotion after a comment made by her a fellow host Phillip Schofield.

Appearing on the ITV daytime show yesterday, the duo were joined by co-star Vannesa Feltz via a live video feed as they took calls from viewers amid the current UK coronavirus lockdown.

While listening to all the different phone-ins, the two presenters began reflecting on their own situation in the studio - which has been running off 'skeleton staff', with everyone adhering to social distancing rules.

It now seems that the unique set-up among the ITV crew has started to take its toll on the two close friends, reports MEN.

"I miss Vanessa not being in here." Holly shared.

Her best pal Phil then added: "I miss everyone not being in here."

The 57-year-old then got a bit more sentimental and said: "Thank goodness we've got each other.

"You're a long way away but thank goodness we've got each other."

This became a bit too much for Holly who responded: "Oh my god, you're gonna make me cry!"

The hosts explained last week why they were still continuing to front the show despite changes to other ITV offerings such as the cancellation of Loose Women.

Phil told viewers that they are considered 'key workers', there to bring  the latest news on the virus as well as offer advice from doctors and "to hopefully lighten the load as only This Morning knows how."

Holly also said: "Most importantly, we want you to know that we are here for you.

"We know that it is a really worrying time, but we want to answer your questions and take your calls and ultimately put your minds at rest."
