Holly Willoughby knew she'd grow up to be famous after psychic told her on holiday

Holly Willoughby reckons she knew she'd be famous because a psychic predicted it when she was a child.

The This Morning presenter, 40, has enjoyed an enviable career presenting a number of primetime shows.

Holly also has her own wellness business Wylde Moon and it was during a podcast for the brand she explained her celebrity status was written in the stars.

Speaking to comedian Michael Macintyre, 45, on By The Light of the Moon she said: "When I was younger I remember going to - I think it was either Eastbourne Pier or Brighton Pier, I can't remember.

"There was a psychic lady at the end. My mum took me and my sister to go.

"She said to me: 'You're going to be a household name.' Blah blah blah blah blah.

"We just fobbed her off thinking she probably literally says this to every little kid who walks in because it's just a nice thing to say. Weird though, eh?"

In a strange coincidence Michael's mum was also told her son would be a star by a psychic.

He said: "I think having that information when I was young...

"It gave me a little bit of an inner glow and a bit of confidence to go: 'Yeah I am.'

"It made me feel quite good about myself. Like I had a secret that great things were going to happen.

"Maybe it helped fulfil that a bit rather than the fact she was actually a psychic."

He then joked: "But I think if it was [she'd have gone on to bigger and better things. You'd definitely have had her on This Morning. Maybe she didn't get a lot of things right."

Holly started her career as a model, but soon found fame when she presented alongside future This Morning co-host Phillip Schofield for Dancing on Ice in 2006.

She then became the face of various other shows including The Xtra Factor for 2007 and 2008, Celebrity Wrestling: Bring it On, Streetmate, and Holly & Fearne Go Dating beside her pal Ferne Cotton.

Holly's big break came in 2009 when she was chosen to replace Fern Britton on ITV's This Morning, alongside her Dancing on Ice co-presenter Phil.

With her fun-loving nature and effortless chemistry with her co-host, Holly quickly cemented herself as the go-to presenter with lucrative gigs flooding in ever since.

In 2018 she bagged herself one of the best gigs out there when she stood in for Ant McPartlin in Oz as he was forced to step away from his role on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! due to personal reasons.
