Holly Willoughby gets emotional on This Morning over Phillip Schofield's comment

This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby got a bit emotional on the show this week after her co-host Phillip Schofield made a comment.

The ITV stars have still been fronting the show which is running with a 'skeleton staff' with all regular behind-the-scenes services cut back to an "absolute minimum", reports the MEN.

The hosts have also been adhering to the social distancing measures while presenting and it seems the difficulty of it all is starting to show.

Holly and Phil were joined via video link on Thursday's show by Vannesa Feltz as they led a phone-in on the current coronavirus lockdown in the UK.

But this left the best pals evaluating their own, different, situation.

"I miss Vanessa not being in here," Holly said first before Phil added: "I miss everyone not being in here."

The 57-year-old then got a bit more sentimental and said: "Thank goodness we've got each other.

"You're a long way away but thank goodness we've got each other."

This became a bit too much for Holly who responded: "Oh my god, you're gonna make me cry!"

The hosts explained last week that they were still continuing to front the show despite changes to other ITV offerings such as the cancellation of Loose Women.
