Holly Willoughby fights back tears as she drops son off for first day of school

Holly Willoughby fought back tears as she dropped her son off for his first day of school today.

The proud mum, 38, admitted she was battling her emotions as she said goodbye to her youngest child, Chester, four, today.

She admitted it was a very special moment she didn't want to miss - and thanked her bosses at This Morning for giving her the time before work to take Chester to school.

Sharing a post of mother and son walking to the school gates, Holly wrote: "And he’s off...

"Full of a whole host of emotions watching him walk through the classroom door... my baby is growing up...

"Thank you  @thismorning  for moving heaven and earth so I could drop him off... that’s a day we will both never forget."

Yesterday, the mum-of-three shared a picture of all her kids' shoes lined up by the front door and admitted she "can't believe" her youngest son has grown up so fast.

The telly star wrote: "Back to school... who else’s front door looks like this...

"Big day for Chester tomorrow, 1st day of school... Good-luck to anyone else starting their school journey... can’t believe he’s at this stage already."

Holly and her husband are parents to two boys, Harry and Chester, and a daughter Belle.

Mum-of-three Holly is due back at work today for her first This Morning show after her long summer break.

She'll be heading straight to the ITV studios after waving Chester off to school, and reuniting with co-host Phillip Schofield.

The pair have both had the summer holidays off, and even managed to jet off together for a joint break in Portugal.

Fans will be glad to see the pair back on the telly after their two-month absence.
