Holly Willoughby fans offer her advice after she shares snap with glaring gardening error

Holly Willoughby has taken up a new hobby of gardening but she is still learning the ropes.

And on Sunday when the This Morning star, 40, updated her fans on her green-fingered efforts she was bombarded with tips, tricks and advice after she posted a snap from her garden which showed a planting mistake that no seasoned gardener would make.

The ITV favourite could be smiling in the upload as she showered water over her fruit and vegetable patch which she captioned: "Well... lets try this again... not much success in 2020... keeps the snails and squirrels happy anyhow..."

But it was not long before some of Holly's eagle-eyed fans rushed to the comments to share concern over her choice of putting tomato seeds in the soiled areas and warned her it was the wrong time of year to be growing the ingredient.

One clued up gardener typed under the upload: "It’s a little early for tomato plants Holly. Make sure you have some fleece to cover them over. Or keep them inside until end May/June xx."

A second echoed: "Tomatoes outside in March. ?????...x"

Another joined in by typing: "fine in greenhouse, but not outside yet."

Several of Holly's followers showered praise on the stunning presenter for taking up the new hobby and enjoying the great outdoors.

An impressed social media user wrote: "Could start your own allotment."

Others added: "Such a natural beauty! Hope you’ve had a fantastic weekend Holly... good luck with the gardening" and TV chef Jamie Oliver encouraged the mother-of-three by commenting: "Yes."

It comes after Holly told on a recent episode of This Morning that she was left feeling disappointed with herself as she admitted she feels like she has "done nothing" during lockdown.

Holly recently shared on This Morning that she felt that she has not made the most of lockdown (ITV)

As guest Vanessa Feltz spoke about growing vegetables and Phillip stated that he "wrote a book" during lockdown, Holly worried that she hadn't made the most of the down time.

"You've been coming to work, you've been looking after your kids and homeschooling them," Phillip reminded his pal.

Holly and her husband Dan Baldwin are parents to Harry, 11, Belle, nine, and six-year-old Chester and the family reside in London.
