Holly Willoughby loses bid for planning permission to extend £3m London home

Holly Willoughby and her husband Dan Baldwin have been rejected once more in their bid to extend their £3 million home in London.

The couple put in another request as they look to increase their living space at their six-bedroom home, but their application was denied.

The This Morning presenter, 40, and husband Dan, 46, were hoping to add a first-floor side and rear extension to their stately Edwardian London house.

But their application was turned down, according to The Sun.

It has been revealed the reasons were due to fire safety concerns and design and heritage reasons.

Unfortunately for the pair, who share their home with their three kids - Harry, 12, Belle, 10, and six-year-old Chester - this isn't the first time they've tasted defeat in their plans.

They have faced an uphill struggle to increase the size of their home since buying it in 2011.

They originally hoped to build a two-storey extension but those plans were completely rejected five years ago.

They did attempt to appeal the decision but were again rejected by a planning inspector.

This led to them scaling down their plans before submitting again in April for a one-storey extension.

This was their 14th extension request in the 10 years they've lived in the property.

A planning officer said: "The proposal by reason of its combined height, siting, width and depth contributes to an excessive scale and level of massing which would be an inappropriate and unsympathetic form of development harmful to the character and appearance of the host building... causing less than substantial harm to the character and appearance of the conservation area.

"The benefits put forward are not considered to outweigh the identified harm."

The duo have up to three months to lodge an appeal against the decision.

The Mirror has contacted Holly's rep for comment.
