Holly Willoughby has been charged with driving her £25,000 Mini Cooper without due care and attention, with the case set to be heard by magistrates this week.
The 44-year-old TV presenter is alleged to have committed the offence near her £3 million London home on August 28.
According to sentencing guidelines, the former This Morning host could face up to nine penalty points on her licence and a fine, The Sun reports.
The mother-of-three appears on a list of cases to be heard at Lavender Hill Magistrates Court on Tuesday, under her married name.
Although she could choose to appear in person, most traffic cases are resolved by entering a plea without attending court.
The charge, under section 3 of the Road Traffic Act 1988, can cover activities from being distracted behind the wheel, to putting on make-up, arguing with passengers or tailgating other vehicles.
Holly was previously pictured driving the Mini Cooper shortly after stepping down from ITV’s Dancing On Ice in March
Her past traffic woes include parking a £100,000 Mercedes G-Class in a disabled bay back in 2019, after it got a flat tyre.
Meanwhile, in 2016, she reported the same car stolen before it was later found parked outside the Kensington offices of her TV producer husband Dan Baldwin.
Holly’s upcoming court date follows a difficult patch in her career. In October 2023, she left her role at This Morning after 14 years, four months after the departure of her co-host and former friend Phillip Schofield.
It followed a wave of negative headlines over his affair with a much younger male runner on the show.
And in July last year, 37-year-old Gavin Plumb was found guilty at Chelmsford Crown Court of plotting to kidnap, rape, and murder Holly. He was sentenced to live imprisonment to serve a minimum of 16 years.
Those close to Holly say she was deeply traumatised after learning of the sick plot and it had a "life-changing impact" on her.
But Holly is said to planning a triumphant TV comeback, with the possibility she could be in the running to replace Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman on BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing.
