Holly Willoughby explains difficult reason behind some This Morning mistakes

Holly Willoughby has explained the difficult reason behind some mistakes she makes while presenting.

The This Morning star has previously spoken out about her struggles with dyslexia and in a new interview she has said this is the reason "most of the time" for slip-ups live on air.

She has also spoken about her difficulties as a child which left her feeling "stupid" at school.

But Holly, 39, admitted that while still gets muddled up with her words while co-host the ITV show with Phillip Schofield, she says she's learned not to let it hold her back.

The telly star told Red magazine: "I've struggled with dyslexia since I was young and it used to hold me back. At school, reading out loud absolutely terrified me because I’d get all the words wrong and I was convinced everybody thought I was stupid."

On her occasional mistake on This Morning, Holly continued: "It still happens now – most of the mistakes I make on This Morning are because of it, but it doesn't do what it did to me back then because I don't let it have power.

Holly has appeared on This Morning with Phillip since 2009 (ITV)

"I now know that it's all about how you package it in your head."

Holly has previously said that she was "late" discovering her dyslexia.

She has also said how she would use coloured scripts to help her prepare for the daytime show as well as make advance checks on the autocue so that she could be up to speed with everyone else.
