Holly Willoughby defends Harry and Meghan’s airbrushed cover: 'Everyone uses filters'

Holly Willoughby has defended Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Time magazine cover, which was released on the royal's 37th birthday on Wednesday.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been criticised for the image as many believe it has been heavily photoshopped.

The cover has also sparked memes and jokes, with some people claiming that Harry looks like he is Meghan's hairdresser as he stands behind her.

Discussing the latest headlines on This Morning, Holly's co-host Phillip Schofield said: "Body experts have gone as far to say that Meghan looks powerful in the photo, while Harry looks emasculated."

"Ohhhh that's so unfair, I think it's unfair," Holly quickly replied, as Phillip continued: "No matter what they do, they're going to get battered.

"Yeah I agree," Holly added, before saying: "And we all can't talk, every single one of us does it on our own Instagram, everyone's sticking filters over everything.

"Everyone does it!" Phillip agreed as Matthew Wright looked on stunned and admitted he doesn't use filters.

"Oh thats why I'm screaming when I look at yours!' Phillip joked as Holly burst out laughing.

Harry and Meghan's cover was to celebrate the fact that they have made this year's list of TIME magazine's most 100 influential people.

Their inclusion on the list was marked with the striking new photos of the couple, that were taken at their £11million mansion in California.

One shows the couple against the backdrop of trees, with Meghan dressed in all white and Harry contrasting in all black.

Another shows them posing next to a window frame, with Harry wearing a suit and Meghan in a green roll neck jumper and grey trousers, while a third shows them walking in the grounds of their home.

The magazine praised the pair for having "compassion for the people they don't know", adding: "They don't just opine. They run towards the struggle."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
