Holly Willoughby confronts 'mean' and 'cruel' Piers Morgan over Kardashian rant

Holly Willoughby was not prepared to listen to Piers Morgan taking aim at the Kardashians on Wednesday, following the news they were ending their TV series Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Piers joined Holly and co-host Phillip Schofield on This Morning to discuss the big news stories of the day.

Kim Kardashian announced the news on social media on Tuesday evening with many stunned it was ending after 14 years.

But Piers couldn't have cared any less, making it clear he was no fan of the famous family.

In fact, he quickly began slamming the stars of the show, and called them "talentless" and "wastrels".

He started off by faking his heartache and grief over the show coming to an end.

Holly wasn't having it though, calling him out on the show for always being "cruel".

She asked: "Why do you hate them? I have to say Piers you are particularly cruel.

"I always think this, you are really, really mean because they are human, they are people with feelings."

Piers wasn't going to apologise though, and instead mocked them further.

He said: "They are a bunch of talentless wastrels who made billions by conning the world that there is something compelling about them.

"What is entertaining about them?"

Holly replied: "Oh it is [entertaining], it's like candy floss for the brain and sometimes we need that."

Piers went on: "I literally felt like the few times I accidentally caught it on the TV, I could feel my brain cells starting to erode.

"They have done nothing but make the world more stupid."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
