Holly Willoughby gutted as she's forced to cancel plans for big 40th birthday party

Holly Willoughby pulled the plug on her big birthday party for her 40th.

Her showbiz extravaganza had been penned in for Friday night but it won't go ahead amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Instead ITV's darling TV presenter has apparently arranged to celebrate with all her A-list pals on Zoom.

Understandably gutted — Holly, who turns 40 on February 10, said her birthday was looking "very different" to what she had imagined for this year.

On the bright side however, the stunning presenter was sure she would be fine with a glass of wine and a cake to celebrate her big day.

She said on Thursday's This Morning: "It's bittersweet as next week I'm celebrating my big 4-0 and tomorrow night would have been my big birthday party that I had to cancel!

"So it will look very different. But as long as I've got a cake and a glass in my hand I'll be fine."

Holly maintained her cheerful disposition as This Morning sparked the conversation with their latest segment.

This Morning's segment on "how to celebrate your birthday in lockdown" for viewers at home was something the mum-of-three could relate to.

It was cakes galore in the TV studios; Holly and Phillip tucked into several delicious types of birthday cake on offer.

Her apparent plans to Zoom her pals to mark her major milestone emerged last week.

It's believed Emma Bunton, 45, Nicole Appleton, 46, and Tamzin Outhwaite, 50, will join Holly and her sister Kelly, 42, to ring in the special occasion.

No doubt Dan, Harry, 11, Belle, nine, and Chester, six, have a few ideas for Holly's big birthday in lockdown.

She deserves a good break after juggling home-schooling with her high-flying career.
