Holly Willoughby brutally hangs up on 'rule-breaking' This Morning viewer on air

Holly Willoughby wasn't in a forgiving mood on This Morning on Monday morning, as she and Phillip Schofield hosted the next game of their new segment Spin To Win.

Viewers are tasked with calling in to tell them a code word for a chance to spin the wheel and win a prize.

From cash to holidays, there's all sorts viewers can get their hands on but they must correctly answer a question first.

Before all of this, there is one key rule all players must follow.

Not carrying this out can lead to their chances of spinning the wheel ending in just seconds.

Phillip and Holly make it clear every episode that viewers must say the code word as soon as they answer the phone.

If their phone rings and they don't answer, or they pick up and say anything other than the word, then they lose.

On Monday, a viewer named Sam answered with "hello" and Holly brutally told producers to "hang up".

Phillip was quick to remind viewers after the harsh moment that they had been warned, with only the key word accepted.

Holly quickly had the call ended, with Sam cut off before another viewer was called.

Phillip had said: "Do not say hello or we will hang up."

Holly shouted 'hang up' after the viewer said 'hello' and Phillip agreed (ITV)

When this happened, Holly commented: "Hang up. Who was that? Shona? One rule! Oh it was Sam."

Phil agreed: "Oh, goodbye. What did we say? If you say 'hello' we hang up."

They then offered the chance to another caller, but disaster struck again when the caller went to answer the question.

Suddenly the call ended, and as Holly and Phil tried ringing back it went to the caller's voicemail.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
