Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield thank 'incredible' This Morning viewers in uplifting start to show

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield thanked their 'incredible' viewers as they had some good news to share at the start of the show.

The hosts were back at the helm of the ITV show on Tuesday and revisited a story from yesterday's show.

On Monday, Holly and Phil spoke to nine-year-old Nathaniel Nabena and his parents, Ebi and Modupe.

The family were against time to raise £200,000 by Wednesday to pay for life-saving treatment after being diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia last November.

Nathaniel fell ill in the UK after he and his family travelled to the country to for a private specialist eye prosthetic in London after he lost his left eye to Myeloid Sarcoma whilst in Nigeria.

But when he became ill and he was diagnosed with leukemia, Great Ormond Street Hospital told them treatment would cost £825k due to his immigration status.

GOSH have dropped their private fees to help the family, and as Nathaniel is ready for his Stem Cell Transplant, they needed to raise the three-figure-sum by tomorrow (May 12).

Prior to their interview, the GoFundMe page was on £50,000 but just one hour after their interview the fund reached more than £128,000.

And starting Tuesday's show, Holly and Phil were delighted to reveal that the target was reached and now sat at more than £205,000.

"On yesterday's show we met nine-year-old Nathaniel Nabena who wanted to raise £200,000 for life-saving treatment after being diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia," Phillip started the show.

"Well, at the start of the interview yesterday Nathaniel's GoFundMe page was at £50,000 but thanks to your generosity it has now reached over £205,000," Holly added.

"Wow, incredible," she said before Phil commented: "Look what you did."

After speaking to the family and wishing them look for the next part of the treatment, Holly said directly to the camera: "Well done by the way because you made that happen.

"Well done. You are always incredible but particularly at moments like that."

Phil added: "That's a beauty."
