Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield's This Morning return confirmed as she isolates

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield's return date to This Morning has been confirmed after she cut short her holiday in Portugal to ensure she had enough time to isolate for 14 days.

Holly, 39, planned to fly from the Algarve in Portugal at the end of August, but made the decision to come back earlier to factor in her quarantine period ahead of her return to the ITV show.

Mirror Online can now reveal Holly and Phil will be back on TV on September 1 - the same date Piers Morgan is returning to Good Morning Britain after his own summer break.

Mum-of-three Holly spent her summer in the Algarve with her husband Dan Baldwin and their children Harry, 11, Belle, nine, and Chester, five.

Government's coronavirus restrictions mean any passengers returning from Portgual need to isolate for two weeks.

Although her family trip came to a halt earlier than expected, Holly did what was necessary to keep everyone safe before she hits screens again on This Morning.

An insider told Mail Online : "Holly accepts that she has to go into quarantine and will follow the rules.

"Instead of seven weeks away she has had to make it five – but it's what she's had to do to keep the This Morning team safe and to ensure she returns to the show on time."

Holly and Dan had been staying at the luxurious Quinta do Lago resort, which offers private villas with pools for a relaxing break in the sunshine with their doting youngsters.

She remained rather quiet on social media throughout the duration of her getaway, sharing only two photographs over the five-week period.

Avid Holly fans will be delighted to see the blonde beauty back on screens in early September alongside her co-presenter and best mate, Phillip Schofield, who has also been enjoying a summer break with his family.

Although the pair have worked side-by-side for over 11 years now, Holly recently fueled split rumours from her TV hubby Schofe.

Speculation was rife after ITV's darling presenter, 39, quit the A-list showbiz agency YMU they both share last week.

Holly will manage herself from now on, via her company Roxy Management, in a huge change for her high-flying presenting career.

The telly star wanted to be able to take more control and improve her “work-life balance”.

A source told The Sun : "Lockdown has given her time to reflect and think about her future.

"In many ways, it has become the perfect opportunity to start afresh and it was just time for a change.

"She is really excited about managing herself and having more say over decisions on a day-to-day basis."
