ITV's This Morning began on a sombre note on Wednesday, as presenters shared the tragic news of the death of a crew member.
Presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield announced that Charlie Hart, who had worked on the show for 10 years, had died on Tuesday after battling a long-term illness.
While he had generally stayed behind the cameras, The Mirror reports the team had managed to get him in front of them a few times.
A clip of Charlie modelling something on the show's catwalk was then aired.
Phil began by telling viewers: "We're starting with some very sad news about a member of our team."
Holly continued: "One of our long-standing crew members Charlie Hart passed away yesterday after battling a long-term illness.
"Charlie spent more than 10 years with us at ITV and it wasn't just behind the cameras that he played an important role," Phil said.
"Occasionally we even managed to tease him out in front of the camera, even appearing in our fashion items."
The presenters paid tribute to the much-loved team member.
"Such a lovely guy," Phil said.
"We will really miss him, our thoughts are with all of Charlie's family and children and his grandchildren and his wife Tina."
Holly added: "We just want you to know that he will be sorely missed."
