Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield panic during Saturday Night Takeaway dare

A behind-the-scenes clip of Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield has proven just how much they were panicking during a skit on This Morning earlier this week.

An array of live ITV shows took a very weird turn on Monday 22 March, and viewers were immediately suspicious that Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway were behind the mischief.

And they were absolutely right, as the latest episode revealed it was Stephen Mulhern who was to blame with his On Air Dares skit.

The 43-year-old TV presenter gatecrashed Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning and even Loose Women t let the hosts know that he would be setting them an epic dare.

Holly Willoughby was shocked when Stephen Mulhern arrived on the This Morning set last Monday with an epic challenge (ITV)

The stars of each show had to say some rather bizarre phrases in order to win points and a trophy.

Holly, 40, and her 58-year-old co-host Phillip looked shocked as Stephen appeared on set during an ad break - but they were determined to win, with Phillip saying: "I want to beat Lorraine!"

Holly was heard telling viewers that she was "bursting for a wee" and also had a go at beat boxing live on air as part of the hilarious challenge - and it seemed it paid off.

Holly and her co-host Phillip Schofield were in despair as they realised what they had just done on live television (ITV)

However, before finding out that they were the winners of the dare, Holly and Phillip appeared to be in a panic when they realised what they had just done.

"Lock the door behind him!" Holly shouted as Stephen headed over to the Loose Women set.

With his head in his hands, father-of-two Phillip then added: "Oh my God, what have we done?!"

However, all was forgiven as the hosting duo realised they had won a small trophy for their efforts.

*Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway airs Saturdays at 7pm on ITV.
