Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield ended up in tears over claims the Loch Ness monster is actually a whale's penis.
The telly pair couldn't believe that the picture of Nessie’s long neck might actually be the huge penis of a whale, according to recent research.
Speaking on This Morning Phil said: "A team of fact checkers have been looking at pictures of the Loch Ness Monster and are claiming that the sightings could in fact be a whale penis."
He added: 'We were talking to our editor, who is Scottish, and saying, 'how does a whale get into Loch Ness in the first place?' and there is apparently river access. But also did it go in there as a baby and grow up in there?"
When told it was 1.8 metres long, Holly who thought it looked like a snorkel, also asked: "Do whales swim on their back? I don’t know the anatomy but how is that happening?"
Phil who leaned back as if to show her, joked: "It was just sort of cooling down maybe."
The telly presenters admitted they'd spent their time googling whale penises, joking that they were worried HR might think they were up to something.
They had a further laugh when they realised the whale penis was the same colour as the flesh coloured top Holly was wearing.
Viewers couldn't believe their conversation and one Scot said: "I'm no having it! The Loch Ness monster is not a whale penis!. #ThisMorning #Scottishlegend "
Another joked: "I went swimming in loch ness not so long ago naked..thats where the whale penis story has derived from."
And someone else quipped: "1.8 m whale penis ! That’s why the sea tastes salty !!! #ThisMorning
