Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield today delivered the perfect response to Piers Morgan after This Morning’s TV Choice award win.
The motormouth TV host branded them "snivelling little b*****ds" in a sweary outburst after Good Morning Britain lost out to its rival at Monday night's awards ceremony.
But taking a different tack, Holly and Phil opted for the 'kill them with kindness' approach to Piers’ sore-loser rant.
The presenting duo first thanked fans for their support after winning the best daytime show award for the fourth year in a row, before addressing their grumpy ITV colleague.
“It was a lovely moment. We thought we’d dedicate this year’s award to Piers Morgan,” said Phil with a rather smug smile on his face.
He continued, patronisingly: “Piers Morgan, whose middle names are spittle and bile, if you want to pop in and hold it, we’ll leave it here for you. You can maybe come and have your picture taken with it. We love you Piers.”
Piers’ expletive-ridden speech at the annual awards ceremony was replayed for viewers as Holly and Phil giggled over it.
“It’s the speech you want to give when you don't win, isn’t it?” laughed Holly.
In the speech, Piers told the showbiz crowd: "I just want to say how thrilled I am for everybody at This Morning. Anyone loves you guys more than you love each other its me.
"Love you, love you so much," he mimicked before dealing the big blow.
"Actually I don’t love you I hate you, you snivelling little b*****ds.
"Every time we come to these things I get told it's our time. It's never our time, it's always their time. F*** you and f*** your awards."
Finishing his speech, the fuming presenter joked in a childish voice: "We're all part of one big happy family.
"Are we f***!"
The miserable host hadn’t calmed down this morning as he continued his moaning on GMB.
The 54-year-old said: "Holly and Phil go up and it's like one of the most sickening love fests you have ever seen in your life.
"I was sat watching this in the front row and I was feeling the nausea rising in my bowels and I was like this is the most sickening thing I have ever watched in my entire life.
"Plus the 'we can’t believe it, us, little old us. Winning our 85th award. In the last 3 months. What a shock. We want to thank everybody'. In the meantime. 'Love you, love you more'."
Time to get over it, Piers.
