Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were finally reunited on screen as they kicked off the new series of Dancing On Ice, leaving fans ecstatic.

The This Morning pair, who were split when Willoughby presented I’m A Celebrity late last year, stepped out as a duo on Sunday night when the skating competition returned to ITV.

As Willoughby pointed out that the celebrities had been paired up with partners, Schofield referenced their brief separation with a sweet hug.

He said: “And speaking of being lost without your partner, it’s nice to have you back.”

Fans were delighted to see the pair back together, rushing to Twitter to share their happiness.

One wrote: “Didn’t realise how much I’d missed seeing Holly and Phil together until now #DancingOnIce.”

Another said: “I love Phil and holly so much #DancingOnIce.”

“Holly and Phil are reunited!#dancingonice.” commented somebody else.

Willoughby left her role on This Morning last November to stand in for pal Ant McPartlin alongside Declan Donnelly in the jungle.

The star was a hit with viewers over the three week programme, which saw Harry Redknapp crowned King.

Gemma Collins, Coronation Street star Jane Danson, cricketer Ryan Sidebottom and Strictly star James Jordan are among the celebrities to take to the rink in the new series.

Six famous faces make their debut on Sunday night while the remaining stars must wait another week to get out on the ice.

Dancing On Ice continues Sunday at 6pm on ITV.
