Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield can't stop smiling as they're reunited on This Morning

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield couldn't stop smiling as they reunited backstage at This Morning today.

The pair are back together for their first show in two months after taking the summer holidays off to spend time with their families.

Earlier today, Phil joked about the end of summer by posting a picture of inflatables and beach towels dumped outside the studios.

In the Instagram post, he captioned the snap: "Me and Holly shedding summer as we enter the building."

They were later seen laughing and joking together as they walked around the building with their scripts in hand.

Mum-of-three Holly, 38, had to race to the ITV studios this morning after dropping off her youngest son Chester, four, for his first day of school today.

She thanked ITV bosses for "moving heaven and earth" to make sure she was able to be there for her boy's special day.

In a post on Instagram , she wrote: "And he’s off...

"Full of a whole host of emotions watching him walk through the classroom door... my baby is growing up...

"Thank you  @thismorning  for moving heaven and earth so I could drop him off... that’s a day we will both never forget."

Fans will be glad to see the pair back on the telly after their two-month absence.

There's also a huge treat coming up as Holly and Phil are heading to Downton Abbey for an unprecedented special live show.

The presenters will be hosting This Morning at Highclere Castle - the location of the award-winning ITV series.

And they won't be alone, as the pair will be joined by a host of famous faces from the show as they explore the castle and its grounds.

This includes Jim Carter, Michael Fox and new castmember Tuppence Middleton, who play Mr Carson, Andrew Parker and Lucy Smith respectively.

Kelly Brook will be tending to the Downton grounds in her gardening segment from the castle in Hampshire on September 12.
