Holly Willoughby amazes fans as she poses with giant family dog

Holly Willoughby has stunned fans by posing for a photo with a family pet.

This Morning star Holly shared a photo of herself and her mother-in-law's 'baby' - an Irish wolfhound called Mullins.

Holly, 40, described Mullins as a 'gentle giant' as she shared the snap with her 7.2million followers on Instagram.

Her followers were floored by the size of the pooch which appeared to almost be as tall as the TV star.

Mum-of-three Holly wrote: " Hanging out with this gentle giant today… meet my mother in laws baby… Mullins #irishwolfhound #dogsofinstagram."

She signed off with a green love heart and the comments came pouring in.

"OMG he is adorable! Like the BFG in dog world x"

"What breed of horse is this?" joked another.

"He nearly as tall as you," said another fan.

And another said: "Knowing how frightened you are of dogs that move, you are being very brave."

Holly on This Morning (ITV)

A couple of weeks ago on Holly was scared of a border collie that appeared on the show.

Sophie Goss brought on Bear, believed to be Britain's smartest dog, to show off all his tricks that he's learnt.

Holly started to shriek in panic when he took a liking to the presenter.

Bear took one of his toys over to her to her and let out a small growl indicating he wanted to play.

And she said he reminded her of Wilson the fearsome dog in the sitcom Friday Night Dinner.

Holly said while laughing: "Oh I'm not sure, I'm scared. It's like Wilson from Friday Night Dinner.

"I don't know why it's just the growling thing made me think he might bite my face."

In 2016 another four-legged friend Luna became a big part of the This Morning family when she joined as a guide dog in training.

After nearly 10 months with This Morning, Luna left to continue her journey towards becoming a qualified guide dog.

She was paired with her forever-owner Verity Smith, a Paralympic dressage rider who began losing her sight at just seven years old.
