Holly Willoughby admits to acting blunder and doesn't think she'll be asked to return to Midsomer Murders

Holly Willoughby's chance at becoming Midsomer Murders next big star may have already been and gone.

The This Morning star was beside herself when she was invited for a cameo in the long-running ITV hit.

Holly. 40, was stunned when stars of the show Neil Dudgeon and Nick Hendrix sprung an offer of a guest role on her as she interviewed them on This Morning back in March.

And the mum-of-three excitedly shared a snap of herself on the set as she filmed her role on the show last month.

Up to now, Holly has remained tight-lipped on her time at Midsomer. But now she has revealed she doesn't think she'll be asked back again.

As This Morning's soap expert Sharon Marshall asked her how filming had gone on Tuesday's show, Holly appeared quite shy and explained: "I wasn't take one, put it that way."

Before adding: "Or take two or take 10. Around about take 25 I got the words out but it's fine."

Co-host Phillip Schofield then asked: "Did you have a lot to say?"

"One line," she admitted. "I had a few scenes, but one line and I couldn't get it out.

"But I had a really good day."

Phillip then asked her another question: "Do you think you'll be invited back?"

"I don't think so," Holly laughed.

However, this may mean Holly hasn't been killed off as she expected she might.

She revealed to the show's stars earlier this year that she's "terrible" at acting.

"We need you on the show, we need you," Nick, who plays DS Jamie Winter, said to Holly as they sprung the surprise of her invite to appear in the drama.

To which she replied: "I mean you are going to have to kill me off really quickly because I am terrible at acting. I don’t know what I am going to do"

"That's never held us back in Midsomer," Neil, who plays DCI John Barnaby in the ITV hit, joked.

"I will just walk through the back of shot slightly,” said Holly. "But I would love nothing more."

It is not yet known when the episode Holly makes a cameo in will be aired on ITV.
